Question diecast help

since i have seen many great plastic kits on this board i want to ask you guys about a diecast question. i am working on a few 1:18 scale diecast customs. i am wanting to make side skirts and fender falres and various other "kit" items. what would be the best way to mold and attach these peices for use on a diecast car? thanks for any help.

I'm guessing you can use putty to make the side skirts. It should stick to metal.

I've done my share of diecast modification, Bondo works ok but you have to be VERY careful handling the car afterwards especiallly when sanding. I've gotten the best results using JB Weld, It's a putty that is specified for metal and works really well with diecast. But, you have to be really patient and precise when using it because sanding it is a bitch, so you have to get as close to the desired shape before it dries. Also, make sure whatever surface you apply it to is sanded down to the bare metal so you'll have to prep using low grit automotive sandpaper... I usually apply it generously, then as its drying, I use a razor blade to shape it. Once its dry I smooth it with a wetsanding using high grit automotive sandpaper. Same thing goes when using bondo.
