Smile fuel problem

My car wouldn't start yesterday, The RAC man said there was air in the system and he unblocked one of the injector to get it going and said take it to a garage, he was hopeless. However it kept happening so a friend unblocked all jets. He said it was like bleeding a radidator. Since then it has run fine. Does anyone know why this would have happened and is it OK now to carry on using it as its running OK?
I would appericate and suggestions as I can not afford a heafty bill.
Maria

Re: fuel problem

Is it a diesel ? The only way I know of air getting in the fuel system is if you ran it out of fuel or if the tank was almost empty and you made a very hard turn. Also, some Fords have an automatic fuel cutoff switch (it shuts the fuel pump off in an accident) that sometimes triggers for no reason. I hope this helps.
