06 Transmission not shifting

Just returned from a weeks vacation, left the Gran Prix at home, temperatures were not too bad, around zero. Car all of a sudden shifts , first ,second, and hangs there in second, tried shifting manually, same thing. Brought it into my shop, checked the fluid level, colour and smell, all OK. Is there a relay that controls the sift point, had a Caravan that had the same issue, caused by a rusted electrical connection.

Thanks in advance!!

James

Did you check for transmission codes? Not all codes turn on the CE light....

Re: 06 Transmission not shifting

Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the replies.Talked to my trans guy the next morning and, he tells me there's over 300 things to check,Oh great I'm thinking, as he is going thru the items to check 1# thru 224# He asks, you sure, it's not a wheel bearing? Oh Yeah!!! Turns out the bearing came out in two pieces, I thought it was the tranny because, the bearing would not make noise until the speed of the car got to the second gear shift point, however the noise would stay audible as the car rolled to a stop. Not to mention the wife has made mention of slight tranny issues for sometime now ( thought it was in her head) Anyways, wheel bearing replaced, everybody's happy.

Love this forum!!!

Thanks again.
James

Man, the difference between your first post and your fourth one is so radically different, you remind me of a Service Writer that couldn't write down what the customer originally said.....
