2 separate noises. Both tons of fun

When I start my car, as it is warming up there is a loud, high pitched, metal on metal noise which constant until a certain temp. I thought it could be sticky lifters/valves, so I ran a valve cleaner. That seemed to help my mileage out, but not the noise.

The second noise is coming from the front driver side. It almost sounds like someone blowing into water with a straw. A rattle that sounds like plastic on plastic. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: 2 separate noises. Both tons of fun

I had a noise that sounded like plastic on plastic someplace in front of steering wheel firewall area. Turns out the steering box mount on sub frame all rusted away. The sub frame rusted away the steering box shifted and would not turn to the left at all. Now with a replacement subframe all the strange noises are gone. I could not replace this myself unfortunately.
