I can't make heads or tails of the wiring diagram at the back of the Haynes manual. I can read "real" schematics, but they ain't that.
If someone could scribble a rough sketch of the actual wiring, w/location of switches, fusible links, bulbs, relays and all, it would be great. Where to find this harness, how this one is routed etc.
A tall order perhaps, but there are lots of brains on here I'm sure.
The problem - 2 of my brake lights (the bulbs closest to the clear lense, that says "Chevrolet") won't light up when I depress the brakes. I checked ALL of the fuses, under the dash and under the hood, w/a continuity tester and they all seemed to check out. I don't know how to test relays (I'll try and look that up). All the bulbs work (although I need to check one that I replaced, the larger bulbous type (not a the smaller 194 type) on the corner of the back, for braking I guess. It would blow out, probably will again (indicates a short somewhere necessarily?). One of my rear windows won't work (power). The door locks also don't work. You have to lean on the right signal to make it work. I think I dropped something in the cig lighter, can't get 12v out of there. Just to be clear and complete.
I wish there were common sense circuit diagrams/descriptions/explanations of every car out there. It would be an interesting project. For the world
