96 iszuz trooper

hello everyone i need help. I am experiencing a weird isse with a 96 trooper. IT runs great but lately if it sits overnight and then you go try to start it it dosent want to start right up. It cranks and idle verylowfor a sec and then shut off. Then you go to crank it again and itll hesitate but eventually start up. after the initial start its fine all day. I was thinking it migt be the fuelilter but that was changed not to long ago but maybe a piece of trash cloged the new filter somhow. It does have 123k o it. the plugs are new with probably 7k on them. It does have the coil on spark ignition so there might be a problem with the ignition system but its only when it sists for a while so i dont think its that or at least i hope its not that. other than that it runs great. I can drive it for 5 min and park it for an hour and itll start right up. The problem only occurs at initial start up after sitting overnight. Have troopers been known to have such a problem? any help would be greatly apperciated thanks.

Re: 96 isuzu trooper

Check your fuel filter and check for leaks around and near the fuel filter and lines. Sounds like it possibly leaks slowly during the night.

I'd bet it is the fuel pressure regulator. It is leaking and you lose pressure overnight. Takes a start or two for full pressure to build back up and you run fine until you park it again. This is a known issue. Do a search for the exact test procedure but it think the simplest version is to pull the vacuum line and check for fuel. If you find any the diaphram in the FPR has a leak and you need a new FPR.
