Hey guys,
I'm getting ready to build my 1st model (tamiya celica 1/24)however I've noticed that there are no kits for hyundai, Kia, or even Acura. Well they do have the NSX and RSX but no CL, CSX, TSX etc...I haven't seen any late model civics either. Do they not make these kits or have i just not looked for them hard enough? Thanks! |

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
I haven't come across any Hyundai or Kia kits, but there are a few Honda kits out there. You won't find them in your local shop, but if you check a website like hobby links japan, you'll find a decent selection of Hondas, but still no CL, TL, TSX, etc.
You'll have to search for Honda as Acura didn't exist in Japan until a few years ago, because they appeared under the Honda brand. |

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
Academy made model kits for the Hyundai Pony and Excel ages ago. Those are long discontinued.
There are no plastic model kits for modern Korean cars, but a lot of diecasts exist. |

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
Thanks guys for the info!
Hopefully Tamiya, Fujimi etc...are working on some of those because there are some truly nice cars. As well, i haven't seen any late model Nissan Altima (coupe & sedan), maxima. Maybe i haven't searched enough, but there aren't alot of late model 'regular' cars, but a whole lot of supercars/exotic, like ferrari, lambo, Aston etc... While i'm a big fan of those cars, there's just something about having a model of a car you own. Thanks again!! |

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
^^ I think I remember someone building that Hyundai here on AF back in '03?
Provence Moulage also makes a 1/43 Resin kit of the Accent WRC.

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
Maxima, altima, kia don't exist. Tamiya make nsx, and a few other hondas like civics and accords. Aoshima also used to make a accord wagen. Revell and fujimi make the most amount of honda civic, and rsxs. Although some hyundai do exist but are hard to find as they are mostly out of production. Best place to find them nowadays is ebay.

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
I doubt you'll ever find any late model Hyundai, Kia, or Acura kits. Your best bet would hope that Academy (Korean company) started to remake scale auto kits again.
Reji-Model has the older Hyundai Accent WRC resin kits for sale: http://www.rejimodel.cz/en/shop.html...category_id=14 http://www.rejimodel.cz/en/shop.html...category_id=14 I wouldn't mind seeing Tamiya or a similar brand produce the new Toyota FR-S or Subaru BR-Z. |

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
The TSX is essentially the JDM Accord, and the previous gen (2004-2008) wagon is available from Fujimi, but no sedan.
There are some 1/24 radio control toys of ordinary cars, like the Carolla, Aurion (aka. Camry) and Accord (and a few more SUVs and minivans), but no Nissans, unless you include the G37 coupe. Body proportion of those toys look descent, and I wanted to make the Australian TRD Aurion out of the R/C Camry, but haven't had a chance to get one yet. 1/24 scale miniature color samples of the current Fit, previous Civic, Toyota IQ (and some other SUVs and minivans) can be seen at car dealers in Japan, and some of them occasionally show up on Japanese auction sites. They look like a well-proportioned radio control toy with blacked out windows, so they can be a good start, but they aren't easy to obtain outside Japan. Not just ordinary cars, but the vast majority of iconic performance, luxury and sports cars aren't available as model kits these days. |

Re: Do Hyundai and Kia kits exist?
I wish! We need more NON exotics, and MORE everyday cars. And LESS 57 BelAir reissues lol. The way Hyundai is going in the 1:1 world, sales wise, maybe one of the great kit makers will actually show interest!
