Shelby Gt500 Super Snake
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
I built my first model of 2011 in April and only managed to finish 3 models last year. I decided to change this trend and start this modeling year with a quick (and finished) build of a model, which I picked up from Tesco for $6 on Sunday. So here it is. Nothing special, pretty much oob. Only 3 things added are the etched brake discs from a Gallardo kit, scratch built indicator lights (which got damaged as u can see, but I didn't have time to fix them yet as I only finished the kit last night) and side windows. Anyway, its a super simple kit by Academy, painted with real Mustang paint (don't know the name of the colour as I got it from a friend who recently built a 1/12 version of the car. Unfortunately clear coat on the roof was lifted by masking tape (I must have mixed 2K wrong or sth) and since I didn't want to waste more time on this super-speedy build, I simply covered it with the first cf decal I could find on my desk Clear parts are extremely britle and unfortunately the windscreen cracked a little... Perhaps I'll cover it with some kind of decal, sun visor perhaps? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And here are couple of pictures showing how tiny this model is ![]() ![]() It was pretty much my first experience with 1/43 but I have to admit that I really enjoyed building it Happy modeling in 2012! Re: Shelby Gt500 Super Snake
Nice. I thought the paintjob was good but a bit to thick until a saw it was 1/43. This is really good, just as good as any of my Autoart or Minichamp models.

Re: Shelby Gt500 Super Snake
I'm sorry Kris but I can't agree with what you said. I've own some BBR & MR/Looksmart 1/43 factory built models which were way better than those Autoart or MC diecast, and I've to say they cannot compare to the quality of Emil's work, especially the hand finished paintworks. If anything I can say about Emil's work is the exthaust tip might need some treatment, otherwise this is just brilliant!
