As a WVU graduate I have to puff up my chest that West Virginia is killing [and I mean KILLING!!] Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

It's time to go to bed, but maybe they'll be ahead by more than 63-20 by the end.

American Football. University level. After the regular season, the teams are ranked through a coaches' poll as to who is the best. Then, championship games, called bowls, are played to determine the final rankings. My team, West Virginia University, defeated Clemson University in the Orange Bowl (played in Florida) last night by a huge margin, 70 to 33.


(no doubt you'd have to explain to me some local NZ sport that I have no knowledge of!)

Fred, congrats to your squad although I must admit I have completely tuned out all bowl games since the BCS is nonsense (imo). I do find it funny that while I am completely sick of hearing about college FB, Moppie (and most of the rest of the world) have happily lived on knowing nothing about it.

I am really tempted to go on an anti-BCS tirade but I'll save it for another thread

Whats really odd about it is that it's a timed game of one hour that takes about three hours to play and the total amount of action from when the ball is snapped until the player is down amounts to less than 15 minutes per game or about 5 minutes per hour.

When you do, let me know. I'm from Boise and BSU was #7 this year and in the top ten for the last few years and they were jilted by the BCS. I'll be ready to join that thread.

Like the BCS or not, you can still root for and have pride in your school team. And Clemson wasn't a slouch this year.
