1999 ford exolorer

Need help with my 1999 Ford Explorer with a v6 4.0, was driving one day and
stopped for gas and after that it would start and i put in drive and it would
choke out, it would not go when accelerating. Dropped gas tank thinking it
could be the fuel pump, but i tested the fuel pump and it was working good, i flushed out the tank and put everything back together. Put new gas in, changed out gas filter, filter was really bad. Went to start it, idles good with no problem, but when i put it in drive it dies out. Checked out gas lines and pressure and its working fine. Just cannot figure why it keeps choking out when i put it in gear and give it gas. Help....
