My trip to ND...56k PIC warning
if you don't give a damn....then please exit stage left. this is a thread about the trip i just took
most of you know Civic Rush & Ms Rush are moving from ND to OR. they are currently chillin' at our house. a friend trailored his hatch out here and was supposed to trailor the accord back to ND...MS Rush had 1 more trip back to make. the friend got the hatch here and flaked out on taking the accord back. i couldn't let her make the trip alone. split second decision and i was packing. we left on monday at 6am. drove 24 hrs straight (both stayed up the whole way) and got into ND 6-7am tues....which happened to be Ms. Rush's 21st b-day. we both knew if we fell asleep, neither of us would wake back up in time to hit the bar...so we stayed awake...ever stayed awake 36 hrs and then start drinking?  got some kick ass pics at the bar but you don't get to see those  Wed we got up early and started packing & cleaning the apt. stayed up til 4 am...slept 5 hrs and got back up to finish. that night we were at Civic Rush's mom's pad typing at our men back in OR until midnight...slept until 6am (fri morning) and got up for the trip back home. stopped in butte, montana that night...got to sleep around midnight. woke up sat morning at 6 am again and headed the rest of the way home. i generally function on at least 9+ hrs of sleep a night. sleep deprivation is such a factor for me at the current moment. didn't get to sleep until god knows when last night and had to get up early this morning. today was victorian's preshcool graduation  and let the pics begin.... 2 taco's for $1...Jack in the Crack rawks... :ylsuper  First stop in Idaho. Why did it smell like onions in that state...not what they are know for?!?!  Jer was pulled over (when he was like 16) and when the cop wrote the ticket he asked how to spell Jeremy...his reply was "sound it out"...ticket was made out to Jerome...LMAO. I liked the sign..  These 2 idiots cruised side by side for friggen ever...wished I had a gun to take out some tires...  Damn straight....  What's wrong with this pic? Chillin' at 3g's, going 0 mph, redlining the temp gauge....had only gone 190 mi (From Oregon to Montana...do the math)  Kum & Go....I'll just leave that one alone...  Stopped at a rest stop just inside ND to use the restrooms and this is what we found...   This guy sat there and just stared at the car. He took some steps towards the car when Ms. Rush accidently slammed the bathroom door. He then took a few steps back and I thought he was going to charge the car. Instead he stared her down....DOH!  Magazine cover....  I think I got Ms. Rush addicted to Shrinky Dinks....  Have no fear....Duct Man is here!  Need a cart anyone?  I was trippin'.....I had a Shroom Burger.... :evillaugh  Ummm, yea....  So I got this great idea...It's 1500mi each way. Needed a way to find some entertainment so I came up with this...On the way home we started in ND and headed west back to OR. You should have seen the looks of confusion on the highway and heard some of the people question us at gas stations....  This goes out to a certain someone...muhahaha....  Tried to bring a fish back on the trip. It went well until the Rockies. Lets just say this is the same theory...  Okay...and now for some scenery...

nice pics ... but what river is that in the last two pics with the cool bridge? I think I saw the same bridge in civic rush's pics when he went out there the first time.
That florida or bust thing was pretty funny too Edit: oh yea and what ended up bein the story with the accord when the temp gauge was all up?

Did you get the radiatior replaced before you took the trip?
Looked like the trip was a blast, too bad we don't get to see the bar pics. Im sure that was funny as hell, i could just imagine you 2 awake for 36+hrs and wasted.

did you pass through Idaho on the Interstate!? I was probably mobbin' on the freeway while you guys were. I left Wednesday and drove 1000 miles at 90mph the whole trip. Then Friday I drove 700 of the return trip, stayed at my girl's house, then finished the last 300.

my card sucks so i only get up to 80 pics on the low quality  got a crap load of scenery pics....but i thought i'd spare the 56k people with load time.oh yea, and Melt, the gauge cluster was trippin'. the tach works 100% but the speedo would flicker on and off. sometimes it would work for miles and other times it looked like it was doing sit-ups :hehe: it worked for around 240 each way. the temp gauge 100% did not work. as soon as you start the car it goes all the way up and stays. majority of the trip we chilled at 3500rpm which is approx 95. that was the only car "trouble" we had. my old 90 Accord was AT i hated driving that car. completly different experience when it's MT. i know it's going to be a pain in the ass and probably cost more than a b16 swap BUT, i'm considering a F22 engine & tranny swap!!!

oh aight then ... my buddy fucked up his indiglows and his temp gauge would just rise to hot when he started the car too.
And the accord with a manual tranny is sweet ... I love driving my moms 91 .... actually has torque

Nice pics Ami... road trippin' is fun.
In that picture where you wrote "Florida or Bust", while the picture was loading, I was reading the caption, and I thought that you had somehow stuck your purse to the top of the car and were driving like that, making people trip out. Then the picture loaded some more and I saw the Florida thing... So um... the fish exploded? or swelled up or something? That's crazy LOL. Had that happen to a gel deodorant in a plane one time, exploded all inside my luggage. Oh, and for the record, y'all will be proud to know that I have successfully completed the first ever (I hope) Box pass.
