trunk pop?
I have a 95 caprice and recently my trunk pop will not work inside the glove box or on my remote. I push the button and nothing happens. Anyone had this problem before?

Re: trunk pop?
Check your fuses.

Re: trunk pop?
i cant find a fuse in the book that has anything to do with a rear lid release or trunk release. I do notice a small black box on the back of the trunk lock that must release the lock when the button is pushed. Is it possible this needs replacing?

Re: trunk pop?
That should be the solenoid. To prevent wasting money on parts that might not need to be replaced, test the voltage present on this line. Have a helper press the trunk pop button while you check the voltage on this line. If you get 0 volts, the solenoid won't be the problem.
There is a fuse for every electric system in the car. Check the fuse block. I have a Haynes book for my own car and it didn't detail the fact there are three fuses that control the ECM. It showed one, which made tracing a problem with my ECM, several years back, pretty interesting. The problem was a blown fuse (due to a failed, shorted sensor) that was not in the book.

you could also jump 12 volts to the truck actuator connection to see if it works. measure resistance of the truck actuator coil. etc... |

Re: trunk pop?
Not sure if this is the case with you......some systems have a slider switch near the solenoid, to enable/disable the system.....otherwise, disconnect harness to solenoid, and attach a test light....then operate the system with either switch...if it lights, it's the solenoid...if it doesn't, it's the circuit....
