I was lucky and found this company
http://www.leatherworldtech.com/
they are in virginia . the product used is a water based dye. with using the proper prep applying this dye makes you leather/plastics look new.
My 1996 impala dash was getting from med grey to a brown color . this was because the dye used was breaking down. after using this product from this company the dash now over 5years since I worked it still looks like new.
the dye is in a plastic container. it can be brushed or sprayed on .
you do not use solvents on plastic or leather . auto stores even paint/body shops have no idea what this is all about. dealerships forgetaboutit...
I am very happy with these dyes. with a leather seat you can properly prep the leather and apply this dye and make it look new....same for any plastics.
the dye at first will look a shade lighter in color but will over time darken to match. purchasing the correct color is the hardest , in this job...
