2000 trooper cruise control issue
bought this vehicle used about a month ago. The "cruise main" light is constantly on, the dash board switch has no effect and in fact I have replace it. When I push the steering column switch the "cruise set" light flashes briefly, but it does not set the cruise control. Parts wise all I can find on the internet is the brake switch. Is there some other part that is malfunctioning or is this it?

Re: 2000 trooper cruise control issue
There is a Cruise Control ECM that could be bad, or one of many engine sensors used by the CC ECM could be a problem. If any of those sensors were bad, that would more than likely also trigger a check engine light, or at least trigger an error code.

Re: 2000 trooper cruise control issue
I had a mechanic hook it up to his code reader and there was not any code. The local chevy dealer wants $120 just to look at it. where is the ECM for the CC located?
