Turbo Kit Choices

I am going to be purchasing a 96 civic hatchback with a jdm b16. I want to add a turbo but am having some trouble with making up my mind (like that's never happened b4) I have read and seen good things about F-MAX, just that their plumbing is mild steel, and its pricey. For 3799 i expect stainless steel or aluminum.l My next choice is DRAG, the stage 3 sounds good, i can get one for less than 3k, my big deal is that it uses a vortech fmu, not the best thing to manage fuel with.

Then there is GREDDY, they come with the inejctors and the control unit.my only prob is that alomost everyone has one. I understand that for the price, the quality is superb, and the power level is decent. THen again, most people have drag kits. I am leaning towards DRAG, but i am open to your suggestions.

Yea, but i don't want a t-28 with an integral wastegate, I want room to upgrade without having to replace components.

OKAY, i have made up my mind, sort of. I have limited my choices down to these, DRAG stage 3 or REVHARD Stage 2C, also, the drag stage 3 comes free with an autometer boost gague, air/fuel gauge. apexi turbo timer(the small one, size of a sharpie), ngk spark plugs, and free shipping.

Are you planning for the long term future of running more than 20 pounds of boost? That T28 from Garret will support 18 PSI. You can only run 12 PSI on your stock internals. You will also have to resleeve your block to run more than 14. That T28 is set at 7 PSI, but take it to 12 - The fuel management that comes with the kit is superb.

the greddy kit is not for serious racers. It was only meant to give you more horsepower for the everyday driver. But I heard the drag kits were pretty good. Just get the tial 35mm wastegate. The drag turbo starts to kick in around 3000 rpms...that's really not too bad if you ask me. Because you can daily drive the car under 3000 rpms without even boosting...but then boost whenever you like. I really don't like small turbos that boost at 2200 rpms.....

LETS GET THIS STRAIGHT, AT NO POINT IN TIME HAS PURCHASING THE EDELBROCK KIT CROSSED MY MIND, OR WILL IT EVER. I am stuck choosing between the DRAG stage 3 and the Revhard 2C, The reason i'm leaning towards drag is that i can get the kit for 2975 shipped, and it copmes with autometer boost and air/fuel gauges, the new apexi turbo timer, 2-step colder NGK-R spark plugs, and a map bypass valve, also for 100 more i can get the tial wastegate. So i think i kinda like DRAG, anyone think differently

revhard all the way

Rev hard all the way 2725 shipped. No you don't get the electronics but they have the best manifolds. I'm getting one and I am upgrading to a ball bearing turbo for 3250 shipped.

Turbo kit

The best kit is one you piece together, Drag manifolds are the suck, they are prone to cracking. Revhard has a decent manifold, other then that, im not sure about the kit.
If your lookin to push over 7psi on ANY kit, you will need a pump and GOOD injectors. Some decent engine managment like Hondata would be a must after 7psi.

If your going turbo, DON'T go cheap. It might be cheaper to piece together a kit with a larger turbo and good fuel/engine managment.

Either way, do some research.
