05 hard starting when cold only?

my girlfriend has an 05 escape. i havent looked at it yet but want to know whats a common problem on these if any. she says its hard to start when cold. she says she has to crank it a lot longer then when its warm. it has 80k on it and no work other than scheduled oil changes for quite awhile. any ideas where to start to look?

turned out to be a dead battery...she gave a pretty awful description of what was wrong...hahaha oh well all fixed
