topper lights
I just bought a used topper for my 2001 silverado. plugged in the topper to the plug on the back of the box. neither brake light or light inside topper worked. I took off the driver side rear brake bezzel and found some dieterated wireing. I did get 12 volts to the brake light but to find out the light is burnt out. so i put that wire to the lamp inside and that works. My question is. should there be a hot wire all the time in that brake light area? i took my meter and couoldnt find one. both wires to the plug are from that area however. or do i need to run a wire from the + on the abattery? thanks in advance for your help

Re: topper lights
This is by no means going to help you, but I have the same problem. I have an '05 2500HD with a topper, and my lights don't work either.
