I have two corrados, a modified '90 g60 and a stock '93 vr6, and I am selling the g60 this weekend for 3500, so about 5000 is my budget. I know I own two VW's, (now) but I kinda like the new civics and have been looking a lot at them and the older ones lately, fill me in.

Maybe less fast than the M3, but I drove a friend's 318 IS, it wasn't too much faster than my car.

that's what I mean... they don't sell cool mufflers like that for VW's. Its all just a muffler then 12" in. of exhaust then a "tip". I like the integrated muffler/right into the "tip".

i already have a corrado vr6 and i dont plan on getting rid of it... a 1.8t gti would be the way to go, but very pricy, i can get another used car that'll go fast for way less money. The 1.8t is only in the newer v-dubs... but i'm sure you know that. Plus I like making older cars go fast instead of buying a fresh new car, more of a challenge.

Well, do you want a car that's fast right when you get it, or do you plan on makin it fast? If you plan on makin it fast, you could find a 93-95 Civic hatch for less than 5 g's. Maybe you could even find an Si. Then some money, a little work, and some more money, you could build up a pretty mean car.

i know a little about the si's, but not too much. What is the best way to make 'em go fast... price effectively (chip, header, 'zorst, p/p head, intake, t-body)??????

Well, there's the usual bolt on stuff, like you said. I think for the money, the chip/ECU would give you the best gains. exhaust, intake, blah blah. but you can only go so far with bolt on mods, you know?
