Hi,
1999 Jimmy I had my "servive engine soon" light come on. I took it to a mechanic to diagnose and he said the fuel tank pressure sensor was bad. They did a complete diagnostic, not with just a hand held scanner. They recommended that I replace the whole fuel pump because it has a bad check valve. I just had it replaced about 4 years ago. The fuel pump is working fine and all I want is the SES light to go off. I plan on doing this project myself so what I want to know is should I replace a 4 year old pump or will just replacing the pressure sensor make the light go out? Thank you |

Re: PO453 Code
What does the fp have to do with the cel/sensor? If you feel while you are in there it should be done, different story.

Re: PO453 Code
is the sensor bad?
l You also have vent lines that can get clogged or pinched. If you need to drop the tank to do this then I would think about doing the pump as well. Or you could leave the light on. Doing the pump is a lot of work and money just to clear a code, |
