Ferrari F430

Hi, this is my first attempt at a WIP here - I've actually almost finished the model now (I'm only planning on doing seatbelts and final assembly from here), so it's a bit late to call it a proper WIP, but I thought I'd start the thread anyway, to get in the habit. Having taken the pictures, I've realised that while my workspace light is sufficient for working purposes, it really really needs to be brighter for photography. I'll see what I can work out for future pics.

I've had a few issues with this kit - I've got a few major flaws in the paint (primarily the driver's door, where I had an accident with isopropyl while painting), and my attempt at 'titanium' exhaust staining has turned decidedly green since I glued the whole engine together. I don't fancy disassembling the engine to try to make it more blue, fortunately it won't be too visible once assembled and the exhaust tips which I did separately are more blue.

Other than these issues, it's been pretty smooth sailing, a very refreshing change for me - this is my fourth completed car kit, and the first where I haven't made any mistakes which I'm -really- disappointed in. In real life the paint doesn't look as orange as that - I think that's come from my lighting being yellow rather than daylight. I'll try to take my future pics during bright daylight.

It is Tamiya Gloss Black > Citadel Mithril Silver > Tamiya Clear Red. I had to stop at the colour it's at now as the red was dissolving the silver (which is water based rather than alcohol based). I've got some Tamiya silver for the future now.

Re: Ferrari F430

nice work, not sure about the greenish tone over exhaust system (is it due to pics light ?) but I like the white inside
maybe a darker wash would enlight details over seats and inside instruments if I can dare a suggestion.
