Re: 95 3100 swap

Your '95 is OBD-1, OBD-II engines/powertrains started in '96.

So without some headaches modifying to meet standards of OBD-II requirements and ECM/equipment mismatch with the donor car, you are limited to 1994-1995 if you are trying to stick with the second generation body style....

I guess it could be put in a gen 1 Lumina body also, but probably not without a lotta unforeseen headaches...

Re: 95 3100 swap

...perhaps a subframe transplant is the answer? Don't know the situation, but swapping it out is really much easier than transplanting the drivetrain....

But if the problem is BODY rot at the subframe mounting points, which is more likely, yeah, you got a mess.

Re: 95 3100 swap

Thanks I was afraid of that. I wonder if engine and tranny would be an easy swap in any other models?
This one is rotted and one of the rear trailing arms has punched up into the frame. I had a welder look at it and he said their is just nothing to work with to make a repair. It only has 89000 miles on it.
