Diagnosis Engine and Control arm?
Hey guys! My 02 Grand Prix SE with 167,000 KMS runs great. But when it gets hot, or is driven for more than an hour, it won't restart until it settles for at least another hour. Temp looks to be fine. Diagnosed two different places and they couldn't figure it out. Replaced the Fuel filter and no difference. Also happens when I put it gas and the engine is cold.
Second issue is possibly the control arm. Hear and feel a vibration under the front left wheel when coming out of park and making a slight turn. Dealer didn't see anything. But this is the same dealer I bought it from so....Like an idea where to start looking |

Re: Diagnosis Engine and Control arm?
Welcome to AF!!
This could be a fuel pressure regulator issue. Pull the vacuum line off the regulator and see if fuel comes out. If it does than the regulator is bad and needs replaced. If not check the fuel pressure when the car is hot. If that is OK check the injectors as when they go bad the resistance will rise when they get hot and they will not work properly. As for the front end it could be one of two things, a bad bearing or a bad CV joint. Given the fact that it happens when the wheel is turned I suspect a bad CV joint that may be catching. Take the car to a tire place and have them check it for you. |
