PRNDL Light burned out
Hi all,
I've got a '98 Monte Carlo and my console shifter light has burned out (I can't see if I'm in reverse or neutral at night). I've looked at it and can't figure out how to get at the bulb. Does anybody know the trick? Thanks. |

Re: PRNDL Light burned out
I figured out how to open it up to change the bulb. You have to, 1) set the parking brake, 2) put the key in, turn it to on and put the vehicle in neutral, 3) pry up on the frame that is around the PRNDL window. This is the one that is right ahead of the ash tray. Pry up right in front of the ash tray. The hole frame has to tilt up towards the front of the vehicle and the front part of it has to come down at the front in order to come out. 4) once loose, the bulb socket twists out underneath and the bulb can be replaced. Piece of cake.
