SIC / V8Stockcar at Roebling Road

By Bosco

V8 Series Racer's head to the SARRC Invitational Challenge at Roebling Road Raceway October 8 & 9 for the last round before the American Road Race of Champions at Road Atlanta.

The SARRC Invitational Challenge is the finale for the South Atlantic Road Racing Series, and is the most successful and best subscribed regional racing series in the SCCA. For more than thirty years the Buccaneer Region SCCA has hosted the event. Invited V8 racer's look to add to their season point totals toward their goal of taking all the marbles after the American Road Race of Champions.

In V8 StockCar Porterfield EnterprisesV8 GT-1 class, three time champ Dave Machavern and his wild looking Ford Falcon lead Ray Webb 140 points to 118. Machavern will be on hand at the SIC and will get a strong test from the racing Monette family, dad Bob, Zach and Paige and a trio of fast GT-1 cars.

In LG Motorsports V8 GT-2, two time champion Bob Mayer looks to pick up a couple of wins and close in on points leader Bill McGavic. Mayer would be the favorite to win at the SIC as he holds the class track record and has many wins at Roebling. McGavic leads currently 129 to 72, however Mayer could leave the SIC with 120 points making it a shootout at the ARRC.

In Howe RacingV8 GTA, 2009 champ Randy Walker leads with 144 points to Tom Graham's 129 and Cameron Lawrence's 124. Any of the three could win the point battle at the SIC as all three are very fast at every track.

In Pitboxes.com V8 SPO, Paul Breehne leads two time champ Larry Hoopaugh 144 points to 123. Breehne's car was heavily damaged at Daytona and Breehne likely will not make the SIC, but should be ready for the ARRC. As Breehne's points are maxed out under the "six best races rule" , missing the SIC should have no effect on his chances.

The V8 Series thanks the SARRC committee and the Buccaneer Region SCCA for putting on this fine event.

We are especially grateful to our partners for the help they provide, they are; SCCA, Porterfield Enterprises, LG Motorsports, Howe Racing, PitBoxes.com, GoPro, RaceTalkRadio.com, Sunoco, Hoosier, Goodyear, Mo's Gold, FiveStar, RaceCar Engineering, RacingJunk.com, Roehrig-Enders, GrassRoots Motorsports Magazine, SafeRacer.
