Hong Kong Stores

Hello guys,

I'm going to Hong Kong next month and I would like very much if someone could recommend a walk-in store in that area.

Thanks

Roberto

Re: Hong Kong Stores

These are the shops I frequent:

Fook Le Model, 66 Un Chau St, Sham Shui Po: mostly for Gundam and comic models, with some car models and photo etch. Exit at Sham Shui Po MTR station D exit (near Golden Computer Shopping Centre). They also have a Facebook page on their latest release, Chinese only (https://www.facebook.com/pages/%E7%A...287102?sk=wall)

Wang Kee, 41 Waterloo Road, Yau Ma Tei: located just behind Kwong Wa Street. The retail outlet for Hong Kong's Tamiya distributor. Lots of Tamiya models and paint, some Fujimi and Aoshima cars too.

Sunny Model/Wai Le Model: both on Kwong Wa Street. Decent selection of car models.

Continental Models and Toys, 345 Nathan Road, Jordan: exit at MTR Jordan station A exit, turn left on Nathan Road, and turn left when you reach Pak Hoi Street. The definitive military model shop in Hong Kong, but also has the best selection of Revell Germany car models.

I generally do not recommend UML, I have a huge dislike for mega stores that drive away smaller businesses and once they have cornered the particular market they will raise the price tremendously. However they are convenient and if you are looking for Dragon stuff they are the only place to go.

To go to Kwong Wa Street, I'd take the MTR to Yau Ma Tei station, exit at A2 exit, walk along Pitt Street/Waterloo Road towards Kwong Wa Hospital, turn left at Dundas Street and turn right at Kwong Wa Street.

In addition to Google Map, you can also use CentaMap (http://www.centamap.com). It is run by one of the major property agencies in here and shows the MTR exit number.

Last edited by petesy; 09-24-2011 at 01:34 PM. Reason: The name of the mega store chain should be UML (parent company of Dragon), not DML (Dragon)
