How much does my '89 C1500 weigh?
I've looked in my Owners manual and two factory service manuals but can't find out how much my truck weighs. It's a regular cab shortbed stepside with a 350. Does anybody know or can point me in the direction to find out?
The figures on the inside door panel only show gross weights. I want to get some topsoil, but they sell by the yard and that's a ton or more which I'm sure is way too much. Thanks for any help. David

Quote:
a yard of top soil ,, not rock should be 1000LBS. If your truck has good leaf springs ,,,not the original ,,,,you should be able to carry that amount .. leaf springs that old should be replaced if you plan on carrying heavy loads. |

Why is that way to much? I load 1.5 tons in my Silverado 1500 regularly.
