My brother bought my dad's 87 Chevy Silverado and he ran it for several months. It was mainly a work truck and he raced it during mud races. Now in 2000, my brother had something go wrong in the stock transmission. That's a long time. Hail to the Chevrolet's for such long life. I think it could have lasted longer.

36's... Thats what I have on my suburban. its a 1/2 ton 90' with 36 TSL Radials. Yes you must be VERY careful with oversided tires and not regearing it. Which I assumed he didnt. The trans is a turbo or a 700re and if they dont have tran pack coolers then you can get them scorching hot when driven with some gusto... I have a B&M oil and trans cooler. Works excellent. I change my trans fluid every two oil changes. so every 6000 miles. You must keep up to date on fluids with big tires. The coolers are cheap and highly effective. under a hundred bucks. A full day at the sand dunes and I just decided to stop once to let it cool down after climbing a huge hill. Never had to stop when mudding - yet.

"SUBARU" is a Japanese word meaning "unite," as well as a term identifying a cluster of six stars which the Greeks called the Pleiades -- part of the Taurus constellation. According to Greek mythology, Atlas' daughters turned into this group of stars.

Well, after putting the 40's on the truck he would push hard on the truck, making it run through the pits. Anyway's It's now down to a 2 inch lift kit. With I think 33's.

Question Five speed manual for my 84 3/4 ton

I have an '84 3/4 ton pickup that I tow a show car on a trailer with. Our groups usually cruise 70-75 and the truck is turning some serious RPM. Can I get a late model 5 speed truck tranny and stick it in it? If so, what kind should I look for?
