Radio button issues

I have a 99 Durango 5.2L V8. The radio all of a sudden will turn on and off but won't do anything else. Not one of the buttons on the console responds except the on off button. Can this possibly be a fuse or is the radio itself just shot?

Thanks

Re: Radio button issues

mine did the same thing a few times and then few days later while using the steering wheel control buttons to adjust the volume the button flew out and hit my son in the face! I mean that sucker just shot out...anyway sounds like ya may want to price a new radio,

Re: Radio button issues

figure I'd give an update. Came to the conclusion that radio was toast and bought a nice kenwood radio with CD and USB dock for my Ipod and phone. While it's pretty slick it isn't as easy to operate and the original radio. Too few buttons with too many different functions. But I guess that is the state of electronics today. At least it was an easy install.
