Unhappy 250 GTO: The Saga Continues

Ran into another problem with the GTO (k078). I put more photos on my Fotki. Still trying to get a new body for it. Nothing so far. If anyone's got a resin LHD MFH 250 GTO body, I could use it. The damage is really bad on the body I have. See for yourself.

Why don't you get a Fujimi 250 GTO instead and work from there?

Hey, sorry to be a debbie downer, but you're probably not going to get a spare body from someone. This is a $200+ kit. Whoever buys these is pretty experienced at building them, and won't have a spare body to give away because they wouldn't need one in the first place. Your best bet at this point is to contact MFH.

Re: 250 GTO: The Saga Continues

The damage is not that bad, really, nothing a couple of hours of work hacking spares from Fujimi donor and tube of epoxy putty won't fix. I dead serious.

Re: 250 GTO: The Saga Continues

I hope I can get a new body for it. I emailed MFH 4 days ago, and no response.

Dude, MFH is a very small company that makes resin models. Even if they kept stock of these things (which I not even "highly doubt", I know for sure they don't cause that would be just stupid), they won't give it to you for free (because I bought even small stuff from them before, they are not a charity), and don't expect it to be cheap.

But that doesn't even matter cause they don't have spare parts for kits that were made in a limited run like 5 years ago.

The GTOs were a limited run? NO WAY!

I got mine from Motoi more than a year ago. He had just gotten it in, too!

I would give ANYTHING for a new GTO body!

Re: 250 GTO: The Saga Continues

4 days "ago" by yesterday was saturday....... I don't know if mr. Hiro must spend all the WE at work, I hope not for him....
I think also they wouldn't stock any spare.... it have not sense since they wouldn't need any, if not decals and few PE sheets, things not in thouch with the resin/metal production. Once more if I'm mr. Hiro and I see you pict, and more I follow a bit the forums I wouldn't answer or send you one more. May be he would be saint-Hiro: he may answer and offer a spare to you (do you think he would mess a new kit to send you a body? may be he accidentally have a body left?), do you think he would offer it for less than 70 USD? Add shipping if is not enaf.

My 2 cent: someone said yet: step 1: pack it, relax, do-build knowledge, do experience, un-pack it in a couple years and you would be easily able to fix it in a day, like most of us may do.

Option 2: ask for a friend able to recover the body, anyway pack it or you would be able to re do the dysaster, like you would do in a new body also.... go to step one and play...

Junk posts. You hate them but can't resist not reading them. They are so addictive.

Re: 250 GTO: The Saga Continues

MFH's Barchetta online store says that Version B, C, D, F are in stock, so if any of those bodies work, you should send a follow-up email asking about that.

If the website information is obsolete (which can happen), I second petesy's opinion and suggest that you get a Fujimi kit. You can correct its shortcomings, like mediocre engine details, plastic wheels and Avon tires by using MFH kit.parts.

Or, if you don't want to buy a kit just for the body, I can send you a body and other necessary parts from Fujimi's blue/yellow 3445GT kit, and you send me corresponding parts from your MFH kit, including the damaged resin body.

Re: 250 GTO: The Saga Continues

The MFH body is so freakin perfect! I wish that there could be a way to graft pieces of the old body onto the new body, or else I would do it. I guess that this is the end of a great MFH kit.
