02' Monte Carlo Electrical Problems?

Hey guys, I have an 02' 3.4L Monte Carlo.

I had to replace the motor in it recently. Now that everythings hooked up and all that, when I try to start the car I have power until I try to turn it over. Then I lose everything until I let off the switch.

Also the running lights constantly stay on even though there is no key in the ignition. I know the battery is good as I have just replaced, I know the terminals are fine I have double checked them.

Only thing I can think of is when ever I was hooking up the starter, I forgot which wires went to which side, I have 4.

1. Hot wire
2. Ground wire.
3. Key switch wire
4. another set of wires that go to the hot, I think they relay the "hot" connection to the rest of the electrical system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to AF, decent wiring diagrams are at autozone.com, repair guides, register and then go to chassis electrical for the diagrams.
