2006 Odyssey Rear Engine Mount

Dealer says the rear engine mount has collapsed. I have a replacement part, can get my wrench on the the first set of screws but cannot get enough of my hand on the wrench to turn the screws. Any advice on how to remove the first set of screws.

Have you got a socket set with an extension?

I have all kinds of extensions and adaptors, what do you have in mind? The big issue is space. Been thinking on it since last night, I will check to see if there is access to the screws from the top side via the interior of the van.

I'm pretty sure it's attached to studs that are part of the frame.

What is in the way, It's been a while since I looked under an odyssey.

Smile Re: 2006 Odyssey Rear Engine Mount

Got it done, I had 2 sets of instruction. One said to support the engine via the oil pan, one did not. Accessing the screws was difficult, had to use a socket wrench with rotating head along with a cheater bar to break the nuts securing the mount to the frame.

Once the screws were removed I then had to readjust my support under the oil pan. The key was to support the oil pan as far rearward as possible so that the engine will tilt rotate away from the rear engine mount. Once this was acheived removing the old mount and replacing the new one was elementary.

In summary, a ratchet with a rotating head or a box end wrench, used with a cheater bar is what is needed to break the bolts.
