clear coat over decals

can you do this or will it eat the decals

you can do it want it should looke great.

Just be sure your decal are dry (wait 2 day) and soft..

I dunno.. i was working on my AMT Ford Taurus SHO, and i had a pair of decals, and i used clear coat, it ate away the decals....... It turned them white, and looked like they wre cracking
Color: Ktrylon Metallic Black
Stickers: Revell (Lowrider stickers from '64 Impala SS)
Clearcoat: Dupli-Color

Bad mix of 3 differnt company/brand?

Yes you can. It was already covered before. Here is a pic of my R-1. I use automotive paints on my kits, and I don't have a problem with the decals. Just make sure they are fully dried before spraying the clear.

When you say you use automotive paints, do you mean:
- spray can or touch-up paints/clears
- two part enamel paints (with activator)
- base/clear type system

I'm interested in learning more about automotive paints...

thanks guys i had to clear coat over my cf hood because it got ripped and when i put the clear over it it held together
