78' Eldroado Hub Caps

Dumb question.. Removed hubcaps from my car,and am having hard time installing them!!. How do I do this without denting them up?.I already bent the tab's on the cap's hoping that would cure the problem, but that did not work.Any ideas??.Thanks....Diesel1962

Can't get them on working around the outer edges, never had this happen.

Did you give them a bang around the edges with the palm of your hand?

Re: 78' Eldroado Hub Caps

Thank's for the reply.Yes I did and I used a soft rubber mallet. These hubcaps have not been removed in a long time.It don't appear that they are already bent in anyway.Had to remove wheel to inspect RH axle shaft(have to rebuild the darn shaft!!).Should I try to bend tabs on the hubcap some more? Would hate to lose one going down the freeway.Thank's.. Diesel1962.......

No need to bend the tabs if you did not damage them coming off.

I'm trying to think the last time I removed an old style hub cap, everything I've owned since my first car has had mags on it.
