1999 Malibu 2.4 Running Rough

Hi. Recently my car has started to idle really rough and almost dies when starting out. It also comes close to stalling when driving and the rpm's fall below 1500. You have to ease into the gas and it will pick up suddenly. I have no idea what the problem might be. When I put it in neutral it idles fine. Anyone have any ideas?

thanks,

Chris

Sounds like the throttle body may have excessive carbon build up or the coil cassette may be burning though and crossfiring.

whens the last time you done a tune up on this gas filter, air filter, plugs, wires and have you tryed cleaning maf? the other guy on your throttle body could also be dirty and they have the cleaner you need for that at autozone or advanced.
