new engine, old car

Quick question. I know when you do an engine swap, its easier if you get an engine around the same year as the car you want to put it in. However, due to the oppertunity of saving thousands of dollars, I gotta look at my options. I got a 92 civic cx hatch automatic (hot dayum its slow). Im too scared to push it for the fear that it will explode. Anyway, my friend had a standard 98 integra gsr that he just totalled (rear end). Hes ready to give me the front clip to put it in my car. I just need to know if it will be exactly the same thing as putting a 94 integra gsr front clip in my car (direct drop in), or not. If its not, let me know what extra parts I need or things to do. I was gettin ready to sell this car, but if I can pull this off, Ill have a much more fun car that I can keep.
Thanks

yes, its still the same motor, simply had OBDII.

all u need to do is make sure to get the correct wiring conversion.

biggest problem u will run into is ur transmission.

I'd covert it to OBDI while you swap it and as far as the tranny prob, there should be none if you get the whole front clip.

Whew so it is simple. What type of wiring conversion do I need and where can I get it? If I cant get the front clip for whatever stupid reason, what parts will I need to convert it to standard from auto.? And what parts should I change on the engine while I have it out of the car?

sel it and get a hatch woiht a manual and a blown engine, then swap. I have a 94 cx hatch, automatic as well. but just boiuth civic sedan wiht a 5 speed, and swapped out my auto. the thing is, the mounts are different from auto to manual, and im not just talking about the tranny ones, the mounts on te frame. once I was done the left side of the engine is lifted up and set back, the trannsmision vibration dampner doesnt bolt up anymore, the engine side vibration dampner barely fits, gonaa tear soon i think. took me like 30 minutes to line up the rear mount hole since it doent sit right. I then looked at the empty bay oin the sedan and themount is about 1/2 inch back on the frame, angles forwards and down. my hatch frame mounts point up and back. but as far as shift linkage/pedals are easy. you have to drill the holes on the tunnel to bolt the lionkage up, but it is piece of cake. pedals are kinda a bitch, but only cuz of the spring tok me forever. and I had to cut off the brake light switch button off both pedals and swap them. but mayube cuz I got my pedals out of a 6th gen. maybe putting a b series manual works better into a civic that came auto. I dunno. Id find that out first. cuz I cant drive my car hard, shift quick, peal out or anything cuz my engine isnt in there good enough. soon tho I am going to put jack under the tranny side, cut the upper trans mount from thew frame and then lower the jack an inch or two, pull the tranny forward so all other mounts line uyp anfd then weld the mount back to the frame wherever it ends up. so I guess if you can weld go for it.
