Revell 1/24 Mercedes GP W01

In my opinion, the Mercedes is the "prettiest" car from the last couple F1 seasons. I love the colors and the fin on the engine cover.

The Revell is the only model I was able to find. Too bad it's 1/24 and not 1/20, and in the past, Revell hasn't had the best reputation when it comes to F1 kits.

Anybody has any experience with this kit? I can't find any details on the web except for a couple of pictures here:

I have it, still in the box, though.

Looks good, detailed, thick plastic, as expected. The decals are a multi-layer affair and look absolutely great. I don't think it will be the easiest kit in the world to build and decal, though.

I can take some pictures if there's anything in particluar you want to see.

When you get a chance and have some free time, can you take pictures of the instruction sheet? Thanks a lot!

I don't have to It's available on the Revell website.

Since I am at it, however, I must show you the decals.

@Ales:

You'd better also show the tires.
A huge problem on recent Revell F1 kits (although I can only comment on the Mercedes honestly, as that is the only recent Revell F1 car I've got).

The holes in the tires are (sometimes severely) off-center and will be a major pain to get right.
I ordered replacement tires from Revell, but they're sadly just as bad.

The only disappointing thing about the kit, really (apart from the fact that you can only make the early season version of the car, although Revell is advertising the possibility to make the German GP version of the car...).

Thanks for the decal pictures and the link to the instructions. Looks like a ton of pieces.

Apart from the tires what else would need changing to make the Mercedes W02 version using this kit?

These are completely different cars and the differences are vast.

Good obsevation, thanks!

I hadn't taken the tyres out of the bag before just now but now that I have, yes, there's definitely an issue there. Mine is confined to one side of each tyre and it's more pronounced on three of the tyres.

The good side.

The problematic side

I've checked my F10 kit and it's pretty much the same there. I do think that I'll be able to use the tyres from my kit but it's annoying nonetheless.

I've built one of these for Tamiya Model Magazine, thought it was quite an underrated kit for the money, builds into quite a nice model with little effort
