Which window? Do you have express down on the drivers side?

Actually it is all windows.I replaced the master switch with a used one and the front windows worked fine for a couple of days and then quit again.Yes I do have express down on the driver's side.

Re: Power Window Relay

If all windows are having the same problem, you could have either a ground problem, or circuit breaker problem. Can you here the relay's clicking in the door when the switch is made? BTW, the express down function has an electronic module that serves as both a relay & controller for the drivers side (express down) window. The other windows use a regular relay, and all of those are located behind the door panel next to the window motor. It would be highly unlikely that all the relay's are at fault. Do you currently have any signs of wet carpet on the drivers side floor?

Re: Power Window Relay

The only relay in the power window sytem is in the express down module. All of the other door windows get power from the master switch, through each door's individual switch and directly to each motor. If you use express down and the relay sticks it will cause the cicuit breaker to open rendering all other windows inop. Be careful, but you can touch the power window circuit breaker and if it is hot, I would recommend unplugging the express down module. (You will have to remove the door panel) The driver window will not work, but if it is part of the problem the other windows should work. Schematics below:

There are no signs that the driver side floor has been wet.I bought a used master switch and the windows worked fine for a couple of days and then started doing the same thing.I traced all the wires and nothing seems to be shorting out.

Which window are you talking about? If it is the drivers side, and you don't here the relay "clicking" (unless you are hearing impaired) then the relay (module) is not responding to the switch, or the module has failed. This problem could be be traced to a ground problem, module, window motor, or the switch.

Re: Power Window Relay

A break in the brn wire to C1 on the switch plate where the door flexes it opening and closing would cause loss of power to all windows as I read it. Pull it switch plate and check for power at C1 while moving the wires in the door tube, e.g.

Also the ground at C200 could be the problem. Does anything else inside the car not work right when the power windows don't work? Lots of things use the C200 ground on the driver's door sill area. Those can be corroded..

You need to remove the door panel and look inside to see what the problem is. More than likely, you have a bad regulator on that window.
