Stock engines can generally handle nitrous or forced induction in low quantities, but don't. It is generally unwise to do, as a slight nitrous or fuel problem can ruin your whole engine, only put nitrous to a nitrous preped engine unless you know what you are doing.

Why do you need nitrous anyways?

Nitrous is for wussies, if you're gonna mod it, why not go with turbocharger, just make sure you get a new radiator, new hose fittings, and brand new racing pistons and all that other crap. I wouldn't use nitrous cuz it shorts your engine life by 5000 miles everytime you use it, unless you wanna get a new engine for your car and have some fun with your current engine i wouldn't advise you to use nitrous otherwise. haha, n e ways, that's all i need to say.

I...don't know where to start on that reply...hose fittings? WHY? You don't need racing pistons either, unless you are going for serious boost. Nitrous does NOT shorten your engine life by 5000 miles every time you use it, if a nitrous kit is installed correctly and you can provide enough fuel to keep your a/f stoic it should not shorten your engine life substantially (don't try to inject ridiculous amounts of nitrous either, for a stock engine 50 shot is about as high as I go). The radiator isn't necessary, and I don't often hear people recommend that, but it can't hurt to upgrade your cooling system. Nitrous is not for wussies, there are nitrous injected Pro mods running 6's...6 seconds is not wussie, it's frigin FAST.

I would stick with the nitrous kit manufacturers recommendations, anything above that and your taking your engine life into your own hands.
