'62 Thunderbird Custom!!

Finally got this thing done. Paint is fingernail polish w/ Odds and Ends clear. Tires are white wall resins from Modelhaus and Bob Dudek turned aluminum sombrero hubcaps. Pictures turned out a little on the blue side but it's purple.

Re: '62 Thunderbird Custom!!

wow, thats nice!

how do you use nail polish, thin it and put it in an airbrush? I guess that would be the only way.

Re: '62 Thunderbird Custom!!

Something about the older T-Birds has always drawn me to them, esp. when they are painted in a color other than the typical red, white, black.

Beautiful job!! Congrats!! I would be proud to have something like that in my collection.

Thanks guys! Just use regular old cheap lacquer thinner, nothing works better. Nail polish is very thick so make sure to add a lot of thinner and most important, make sure to seal your plastic with a good primer.

The Dudek caps and the superb paint work make this a standout. Well done!

Re: '62 Thunderbird Custom!!

Extremely well done. Great finish as I know from experience that AMT kits are tricky to say the least, but the end result makes it worth it.
