fuel problem

I was idling my 1997 sunfire and it just died and now the fuel pump will not come on. I have swapped the relay and checked the fuse----am I missing something that may stop the fuel pump?? The car was wrecked in the front bumper and qtr drivers side could it be broken wires?? Any suggestions would be great as I am not inclined to buy a fuel pump unless needed-----Thanks

Re: fuel problem

Did you use a voltage tester at the fuel pump /injector fuse? It goes hot hot when you turn on the key. Even if the fuse is good, if no voltage, the circuit is dead.

Engine cranking, do you have spark at the plugs? If you have nothing, check for an rpm signal. Any applicable trouble codes.

The info I looked at was for a 2.2L engine.
