Challenge - Luxury Vehicle that gets 30 MPG?

I am the kind of person who likes driving in comfort but also doesn't like to spend a lot of money. So then how can I get an economical Luxury car?

There was a 1997 Mercedes Benz E-320 with a 3.2 Liter V6 that reported 29 MPG and was in great condition with just 115,000 miles on the engine and was properly maintained at all times on eBay for just $2,500. Problem is though, they sold it before I could come up with the money.

So can any of you help me find a car that is just as good for just as cheap? Should I go Audi or even older Mercs or something like a Chrysler or Mercury? I really have no idea.

Jaguar S-Types with the 3.0 V6 will easily get the MPG you're looking for. An S-Type with the 4.2 V8 (NA, not supercharged) will too if you can find one for the right price. I owned a 2006 S-Type VDP with the 4.2 for a couple of years, and, was amazed at the fuel economy the car got.

Audi will be a nice choice for you as it will hold taste of luxury and royalty in fewer amounts. It is currently in high demand. It will be best option for you in the context of budget you have for the purchase of car.
