the wrx isn't faster than a new evolution. Motortrend ran 0-60 in 4.5 seconds in the evo and 4.8 in the sti and they said the evo took the sti out on the track too. So my vote goes to the evo.

i read car and driver (today) and they said the sti was 4.6 and the lancer was 5.0. The page after the atricle was an advertisement by mitsubishi about the evo and they said that the 0-60 was 5.1.

wow, i just check maybe 10 different websites and every was giving out totally different numbers. hmmmm....guess we gotta wait till we see them in person.

It's here because almost everybody that has a Honda/Acura, wants one of these cars. So in a round about way it pertains to Honda/Acura. Wow, that didn't work. Just tryin to give some kind of justification for this poll, but I can't do it.

But yeah, they did the same crap when the WRX came out. I've seen anything from 5.4sec to 6.2sec 0-60 times. Some of these testers just need to stick to automatics I guess. That makes me wonder how accurate the ratings for the Integra's are? Did my car go 0-60 in 7.6sec? 8.4sec? 6.8sec? Or somewhere inbetween? Cause the only one I ever saw published was 7.6. Givin the margin of error with the WRX tests, it could have been any of these.

Ok, this has been gone over many times.
The EVO 7 is on paper almost exactly as fast as the same year WRX STi (please spell it right) the only differnce between the two is feel.
The WRX feels softer, and is a bit friendlier to live with, while the EVO feels harder and more agresive, and provides a more involving drive.

The same is true for the Current model WRX STi and the EVO 8.
Unless you are refering to the USDM EVO 8 which is a detuned EVO 6 in a new body, and is quite a bit slower than a regular EVO 8 or current shape WRX STi.
However this dosnt really matter as the USDM spec WRX STi has yet to hit the market.

i know you guys think we got shafted but the fact is that they tehsted both cars (yes the us sti has been on the market for about a month now)....aceleration tests have been very close with the sti having a slight margin....but on a road couse usually the evo dominated since it handles a bit better than the sti.....

so ulnless the us sti is worse than the rest of the world's sti the evo we have is a serious car.....

When you guys are talking im assuming your talking about the Evo 8 and not the 7 because the 7 is just ass slow, i mean almost and honda/acura could beat it. Now the evo 8 is a completely different story the Evo 8 is extremely fast, but the STI is faster in the 0-60 and the 1/4, but the Evo 8 is far better on the road course as far as lateral g's (cornering) and braking goes.
