Cold Air or Short Ram?!?!?!?!

I have a cheap ass off brand short ram and it sounds good and i can feel a power difference but should i get a cold air? Is there a big power difference between a short ram and a cold air or even a difference at all?

I have both, I have a AEM short ram I use to ride around and a custom polished cold air that I use at the track. The cold air intake seems quiter inside the car than the short ram, but the thing that I don't like about the cold air for daily driving is that the filter seems to get hella nasty quickly and you need to clean it more often. As for hp difference I would have to say maybe at best 2hp difference, unless you insulate the intake pipe with some of that heat repelant insulation for intakes, b/c the pipe heats up from the under hood temps and than the heat is transfered to the air going into the motor, so the coild air is just about useless IMO.

i was talking to this guy who has been driving imports since he was 13 (hes 23 now, he drove 3 years without a license) and he said that a cold air is far superior to a ram air. he was using a 91 integra as an example (6500rpm redline) and said that after about 5800rpm all the ram air will do is make noise while the cold air will continue to pull up to 6300rpm and give better throttle response through the whole rpm range. if you dont have a lot of money or dont want to buy a whole new intake if you already have a ram air he said that getting a heat shield will also do a great deal of performance especially considering the price.
