Oil Filter
I normally use the Fram synthetic filter for my oil changes but I think I read somewhere that they are not rated among the best. What make of filter do you use? Does the "synthetic" designation make it superior to an ordinary filter? I also hope the choices are available in Canada.

Re: Oil Filter
I use WIX filters in all my cars.
Be carefull with some AC delco's. I question the quality of the ones you can purchase at wally world. Although the dealership/parts place ones are probably of higher quality. ![]() Look familiar??? ![]() And a FRAM to compare it too. ![]() The FRAM looks like its higher quality than both the first two. Which in fact look one in the same only with a different lable on them. Funny thing is, even though they are the same part numbers, the delco's we sell at my part time gig are way better quality than the ones at wal-mart. GM must cheap out the line they sell to wal-mart. Who knows.

Re: Oil Filter
That's interesting, Tim. I've always used Wix filters too. Do you think GM just sells their labels to the Wal Mart people to slap on their own filters? I never knew they were THAT cheap!

Re: Oil Filter
That thing does looks quite cheap Tim!.
Over here wally mart only sells fram filters .I don't know what's happening with GM, the first time I replaced my steering pump I got an ACDelco replacement and was bad out of the box, the high pressure fitting wasn't properly machined and had a HUGE piece of steel in the hole preventing the oil to flow freely. I returned it to the shop and got another one, it was bad again; after installing it, I had a very loud howling sound all the time, ended up returning it to the store and decided to get an autozone replacement and so far so good. Oscar.
