Pontiac will rename new Grand Am
I found this on the Gran Turismo.com Forums . The origional poster said that it was from autonews.com, but you had to pay to view it.
Straight from the mouth of Mr. Lutz, the Grand Am name will not be on the car that replaces it next year. The car, which is said to be heavily based on the G6 concept, will be called something else. What do you think is an appropriate name for it |

As long as they NAME it, as opposed to alpha-numeric naming convention, I probably won't mind.
How about old Pontiac standbys like Banshee, perhaps Firebird, Phoenix, Ventura, Thunder, Piranha, Rageous, Rev, Salsa.... They could pay SCCA and revive Trans Am for it. With the Grand Prix and Bonneville (racing inspired names), Formula would work as well. Other interesting names GM still owns... GTA (the old Firebird trim) Storm (old Geo name) Visage |

Yes, I heard of that as well, There expecting a re-design in the year of 2005. Offering a power retractable roof ( hardtop ), I don't know what models it will be available on. Also they are wanting to use a modified 3.8L V6, or a 3.0 V6 that pumps out I believe between 200-225 horses for the GT.

New chassis, new body and new engine.
I would not call it a "rename" as much as I would call it "being replaced" -- IMHO. |
