Valves noisy after Timing chain replacement
Just finished replacing the timing chain, tensioner, guides.on my 1997 Hardbody 4x4 with the KA24E. It just seems like the valves are ticking hard. I was careful to put the filled oil pump together with the notch and punchmark aligned, looked thru the dist hole to make sure the tab was at the engine front. I removed the fill cap on the valve cover, and some oil splashed ou occaisionally. I added oil back to the engine... I'm stumped! I don' want to run it if the valve train isn't getting enough oil. Any ideas?

Valve lash check your valve clearance or you could be a tooth off

Re: Valves noisy after Timing chain replacement
Actually, from a 240ZX website I learned that the hydr. valve lifters just needed to refill w/ oil. Blipped the throttle a couple times and she settled in.
