2004 Chevy Tahoe 4WD ZR1 Gauge issues!

Hello, My friend has a 2004 Chevy Tahoe 4WD ZR1 where the speedo, tach, and oil pressure gauges do not work, the tach is stuck at around 4000 and the speedo and oil just doesnt move, sometimes the speedo is pegged at the high end though.

I used an OBDII scanner and found i can read the speed and tach from the ecu without issue while driving the vehicle. so that leaves me to believe the speed sensor and such are still good.

I've done some research and found these vehicles have faulty Gauge Clusters that need to be replaced. Does that sound right to y'all?

I found a company that will rebuild and re-calibrate your gauges, all you have to do is send them out and they do it and send it back. Does that sound like a good way to go when it comes to fixing this issue?

Yes you can send it off for a rebuild .
But
You may have a week or two wait.
Or check you local parts place and see if Dorman makes a exchange for it.
No wait for rebuild.
Also check dealer for a recall on it.
