Advice on selling car for parts or scrap
Hello,
I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus that needs repairs, and at this point I'd rather just junk the car and buy a new one (the main problem is that the power steering fluid is boiling). I'm going to research junkyards in the area, but how much should I expect to get for the car? What's a reasonable asking price? |

Re: Advice on selling car for parts or scrap
Call around to different yards in your area and ask them to give you an estimate on what they would pay for the vehicle. Prices have increased the past few years for scrap vehicles so you should make out quite well. Also check your local ads for those that buy scrap vehicles to see what they are willing to pay you. Just a few years ago many ads in my local paper started out at $50 minimum for a junk vehicle and now the minimum runs around $150 to $200.
