06+ Charging System Question.

Ive been having issues with "Battery saver active" Coming up (always in the mid 14V range when it comes up) and I corrected it (so far) by routing my Alternator rewire (larger 4G wire from Alt to Battery to accomadate Amp in trunk) through the stupid Hall effect amperage Sensor on the battery cable.

This led me to having my volt meter plugged in constantly noticed that for the first few minutes, Voltage is in the 14.3-14.9 Range at idle with no load (OR 13V range with all accessories on, but returns to 14V Range if you rev up to 1500rpm+) After driving for a bit (5-10 minutes) It drops and either sits in the 12.4-12.9 Range or 13.3-13.7 Range, regardless of load and Engine speed.

Battery is brand new and tests good.

Im just curios if this is normal since the info I've read on other GM cars with Amp sensors on the battery cables have Alternator Charging Controlled by computer, Or is something still wrong with my car? From what I've seen on older cars my dad worked on, I thought it should always be in the 13.5 14.5 Range.

Re: 06+ Charging System Question.

It looks like your speaker is using a lot of power.
You may be able to get a larger capacity alternator.
It is a strain on your present alternator (short life)

Cheers

Re: 06+ Charging System Question.

This happens even when my sub is off. I finally Hit the right Keywords on google, and found the info i needed though, it is controlled and this voltage is normal.
