oil in head valley please help

i have a 97 malibu with the 2.4 i went to go do the plugs today and i go to take the cover off and i see puddles of oil between the holes for the spark plugs..........so my question would be were would this oil be comming from and no there is no oil in the holes were the plugs are just between them please help im thinkin valve cover gasket but im not sure

usually the valve cover when it leaks will cause the oil to go toward those plugs...best thing to do is carefully clean off the oil...use a brush with some wd-40 and some cloth tooth brushes work good also ...then see where its coming from..
